🐄 RanchBook Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using RanchBook ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Description of Service

RanchBook is a cattle management application that helps ranchers track their herds, manage pastures, collaborate with team members, and maintain records. The Service is available on web, iOS, and Android.

3. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
• One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free account

4. Ranch Membership & Roles

Ranch Managers can invite team members and assign roles (Manager, Read & Write, Read Only). Managers are responsible for their team's use of the Service. Removing a member revokes their access to that ranch's data immediately.

5. Your Data

You own your data. All cattle records, photos, notes, and ranch information you enter belongs to you. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

You can export your data at any time using the built-in Excel export feature.

If your subscription lapses, your data enters read-only mode — we do not delete it. You can always come back and resubscribe to regain full access.

6. Subscriptions & Billing

• Free Plan: Up to 10 cows per ranch, all features included, no credit card required
• Paid Plans: Starter ($10/mo), Ranch Pro ($20/mo), Ranch Max ($35/mo) — annual plans available at a discount
• Billing is per-ranch, not per-user. The ranch manager is the billing contact
• You can cancel anytime. Access continues through the end of your billing period
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us if you have concerns

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
• Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the Service
• Resell or redistribute the Service without permission
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep RanchBook available 24/7, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We'll try to give advance notice for planned maintenance.

9. Limitation of Liability

RanchBook is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.

Important: RanchBook is a record-keeping tool. It is not a substitute for veterinary advice, legal compliance records, or official livestock documentation required by your jurisdiction.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We'll notify you of material changes via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be available for export for 30 days, after which it may be permanently deleted.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
