1. Who We Are

RanchBook ("we", "us", "our") is a cattle management application operated by Kurz Studio. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use RanchBook on the web, iOS, or Android.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (encrypted). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those providers.

Ranch Data: Information you enter about your cattle operation — cow records, tags, photos, pasture assignments, notes, breed information, and team member details. This is your data and we treat it as confidential.

Billing Information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers. We receive your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

Usage Data: Basic analytics about how you use the app (pages visited, features used) to help us improve the product. We do not sell this data.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the RanchBook service
• To manage your account and subscription
• To send you important service updates (password resets, billing notices, team invitations)
• To improve the app based on usage patterns
• To respond to support requests

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (backed by PostgreSQL) with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only access data for ranches they belong to. All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.

Photos are stored securely and are only accessible to members of your ranch.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or ranch data with third parties, except:

• Stripe: For payment processing
• Resend: For transactional emails (invitations, password resets)
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

6. Your Rights

You can:

• Access all your data through the app at any time
• Export your cattle records as Excel spreadsheets
• Delete your ranch and all associated data (ranch managers only)
• Close your account by contacting us

If your subscription lapses, your data is preserved in read-only mode — we never delete your data due to billing issues.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your ranch, all associated data (cows, tags, notes, photos, pastures) is permanently removed. Account data is retained until you request deletion.

8. Children's Privacy

RanchBook is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
